What is fasting insulin?Updated 10 months ago

Insulin is a key hormone that regulates blood glucose (sugar) levels, providing energy to the body. Insulin acts on nearly every cell in the body and is involved in many processes and functions in addition to its role in regulating glucose levels. Because insulin is involved in cells and processes that span multiple organs,  improper insulin function is associated with an increased risk of several chronic conditions.
